A. If a candidate fails or refuses to file the statement required by this chapter, their filing shall be refused or, if previously accepted, shall be returned and their name shall be withheld or removed from the filing records of candidates.

B. A person who refuses or knowingly fails to make a required disclosure of information as provided in this chapter or who files a statement containing false or misleading information knowing it to be false or misleading shall be guilty of a violation and upon conviction is punishable by a fine as provided for violations in Chapter 1.06 BMC and may be removed from the office in which they are seated.
