A. The police department may authorize volunteer animal control officers.

B. Such volunteer animal control officers will be under direction of the chief of police and/or designee.

C. Volunteer animal control officers are empowered to capture loose, aggressive, or nuisance animals, issue citations for violations under this chapter, work in the animal control shelter, and other duties normally associated with animal control. [Ord. 23-08 § 2, 2023; Ord. 11-12 § 2.]
