Construction or substantial improvement shall not occur unless the applicant demonstrates that any associated new or replacement water supply system and sanitary sewage system, including on-site systems, will be designed and constructed to minimize or eliminate infiltration of floodwaters into the systems and discharge from the systems into floodwaters. All systems shall be floodproofed at least to the regulatory floodwater surface elevation. Electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing, air-conditioning equipment, and other service facilities shall be designed or otherwise elevated or located so as to prevent water from entering or accumulating within the components during conditions of flooding. On-site sewage disposal systems shall be located and constructed to avoid impairment to them or contamination from them during flooding. [Ord. 10-15 § 2.]
